It is posted on the SASAC website that, at 10:00 local time, November 8, the opening ceremony of Tanzania gas processing plant and pipeline project constructed by PetroChina (00857) was held in the suburbs of Dar-es-Salaam, the largest city in Tanzania. This project was jointly implemented by Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and China Petroleum Technology & Development Corporation (CPTDC). On September 26, 2011, both parties signed the contract for the gas processing plant and pipeline project in Beijing, in which, it was agreed that: CPTDC, in cooperation with China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau and China Petroleum Engineering Co. Ltd. (CPE), will construct two gas processing plants and a 542km long gas pipeline in Tanzania; specifically, the two plants are located in the Mnazi Bay and Songo Songo Island, with an annual processing capacity of 2 billion and 1.5 billion cubic meters respectively; and the gas pipeline will connect with the above-mentioned gas sources and transport the clean energy-natural gas to Dar-es-Salaam. This project is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2014.
